Comments:

  • Has scales for position feedback that work well.
  • It has real nice air lift rotary table on it now that we may hang on to, but the
  • owner is not real attached to either way
  • Have pullstuds for both NMBT50 and Cat50, will include
  • Known issues are the bar clamp does not clamp, and the bimba cylinders for
  • shifting need some help. We run this machine almost every day locked at
  • 225rpm facing and centering shafts, and its been great for that
  • Glass Scales
  • Ways are in pretty good shape (I would say 6 or 7 out of 10)
  • Positional Tolerance is easily +/- .002" or better
  • The slides all appear rebuilt with standard turcite instead of origina bronze with
  • air / oil hydrostatic system
  • Power drawbar takes either NMTB or CAT 50 tools with about 10 pullstuds each
  • Air/Oil pump for drawbar needs some seals
  • Bimba cylinders and shift solenoids have some air leak by. We run it as it and
  • just give it some help if the cylinders will not pull the shift forks all the way in
  • We have never needed the bar clamp, but it does not appear to work.
  • Way covers are mostly missing, the covers for Z between the table and column
  • are here, but need some attention if you want to use them. I tend to prefer having
  • them off everything but the ballscrew so I can keep it clean and see oil flow
  • It has a coolant pump, but we have never hooked it up and never run coolant on
  • this machine
  • It probably would be a good idea to have the spindle taper reground at some
  • point. It pulls in tools repeatably for us, but for precision boring it can be
  • annoying.
  • I have video of this machine running, it has done a good job for us with deep
  • bores, thread milling bolt circles in stainless castings, and facing / centering 4140
  • shafts. None of the stuff I mention needs to be addressed immediately to run the
  • machine, as we run it at least a couple days almost every week of the year.
  • The air-lift rotary table is excellent, and available for an additional $5.000 if the
